Can’t we please just freeze time right now!!
Today Truman had his first day of Preschool. I am so proud of him, but I must admit, our house is so silent with him gone.
The things I am going to miss in the morning hours (While he’s at school):
the way he makes Elliot laugh just by saying “A—BOO!!”
Hearing him play planet heroes, and when the action figures talk to each other, they all use whisper voices, and then the high-ya! and psh! fighting noises too!
His constant hunger, I swear he has a hollow leg the way that kid can eat up snacks!
The sound of his bike tires on the sidewalk as he races around the culdesac
The sight of his sweet smiley face
His willingness to run errands with me, and be happy during those errands.
Building Kitty Houses out of my couch cushions constantly.
His sweet demeanor and willingness to give service to those around him, if it is at the grocery store or the a neighbors house, he’s always being aware of others and how to help them.
The constant questioning of ‘when is Tucker going to be home from school’ ?
Oh, and so many more things!
In Relief Society the other day, a woman whose 5th child just got married and ‘sent off’ said this about raising little kids: ‘You spend you’re whole life preparing them to leave you’. I guess this is just one of the many times I will be a little sad inside, as I am preparing my children…
I am so proud of him, but it doesn’t make it any easier for me to send him off or for me to realize that he just keeps on getting bigger, older, smarter, and handsomer!
