Meeting Family

Elliot has been blessed to born into a family with so many people who love him. It has been so fun to have people come to our home and meet him, and just to spend so much time with family….

My sister-in-law Tiff brought her kids down, it was so fun to have them here, and amazing to see how tiny Elliot looks in comparison to Eleanor. She is only 5 months older–

When the kids saw us putting these two together, they all wanted to be in the picture… Here are all the Greene Grandkids together. Aren’t they cute? I think so, but I maybe a little biased!

The Great Grandparent Hunsakers (My grandparents), came down to meet our sweet little man with Grams and Gramps…we had a good night of company and pizza.

The Evelyns came down and enjoyed a nice meal of sauerkraut and sausage. Not to many people would enjoy that meal, we’re grateful they too share similar tastes as our family!

It’s been so fun to introduce Elliot to those we love…

“We’re ready for Love”

At least that is what Truman says to me. (So funny to hear what their little brains come up with!)
But I do think he is right, we are ready for love. Or at least the Holiday of Love anyway, 🙂

It has been pointed out on Tuckers School Calendar, almost every morning.

We got the decorations up (we don’t have too many!)

(Writing our names on the valentines–Truman only had 16, but that is HUGE to a preschooler to write your name on that many. We spread it over 4 days, to make it more doable. As we were doing this, I couldn’t help but notice he made a different face for each letter. Remember the concentration it used to take to write? I had forgotten about that, until I saw this!)

Mommy and Me Day! (another belated post)

So before ‘baby brother’ was born, I wanted to spend a day with Tuck and Tru, just doing something fun, as I knew it would be awhile before we would be able to do it again.
So we spent the entire day doing fun things. We had originally planned on going to the Children’s Museum, but because of the bad weather, we decided to stay here locally. So the boys chose some things that they wanted to do. ( A completely different list than what I would have choosen out!) And we took off spending almost the entire day together. (it was also convient for Toph who was working on the playroom for the boys!)

The Donut Factory: (somehow, this never gets boring to them!)

Christmas Shopping (Okay, the boys didn’t choose this one, but we were right by a store I needed to pick up somethings!)
To the Movie Theater, to see WALL-E:

At the Arcade at the Movie Theater (they played here for like an hour!):

the Toy Store (to take a look at the toys!)
Dinner at Wendys:

So fun to spend an ENTIRE day doing fun things with the darling boys. We just might have to make a tradition of it!

Birthday Goodness! (A very belated post! But an important one!)

On his last birthday (which was shortly before Elliots birth, hence the tardiness of the post), Tucker turned 6 Years old!

Tucker is such a wonderful boy, he is creative, enthusiastic, smart and so lovable. The older he gets, the more and more we’ve come to love this sweet boy!

Since Tuckers birthday falls during the Holiday Season, we were celebrating up in Logan.
–The birthday day…
Instead of the traditional birthday donuts, Tucker chose French Toast (which Grandma Phillips graciously made for him)…

He got some fun new presents including, Bionicles (thanks Great Grandma and Grandpa Hunsaker),

and a Sewing Machine.

I taught him how to use the sewing machine for a few minutes, and soon he did it by himself, and made a pillow,

5 weeks and 5 new things….

red
That I love, love, love about Elliot. (and things that are unique to him,

1. I’ve heard it said before, you can’t really begin to see a baby’s personality/demeanor until they are at least 3 weeks old (when they come out of their newborn phase).
And I must admit, I’ve been holding my breath, because Elliot has been the most LOW KEY baby we’ve had yet.
He is very patient and gives me little cues when he is ready to eat, he sleeps well (especially through noise!), and is just in general, really easy going!

2. He is a really loud baby when it come to grunts and squeaks, and other adorable baby noises (especially when he is sleeping). But doesn’t really cry too much, or isn’t too loud when he is really complaining! One time when he does complain when he has a dirty diaper. (our other two could have cared less about that!)

3. He is also our first child to like/take a Binky. He doesn’t take it often, maybe just once or twice a day for a few minutes, but it is a first! Is this a blessing or a curse? I am not entirely sure yet… Only time will tell!

4. Elliot really enjoys the tub. He loves to just soak in the water, and he totally relaxes spreads out his arms and legs in the warm water, and just sits and relaxes there! He doesn’t even care when he gets his body/hair scrubbed. But he doesn’t like to get out…almost always he cries when he is removed from the warm tub-

5. This week, we had to take him to the doctor, as he might have acid reflux (another first). He was weighed, and the scale showed 10 pounds 10 oz. He has definitely filled out! (love the below picture, it shows his big eyes. He is begining to focus on things, and follow things. So fun!)

Have you seen these yet?

My new favorite ‘commercials’…

(This little boy in the above video, reminds Toph and I both of Truman..)

I am grateful to belong to a church that values, and puts a priority on family. And I’m glad to be married to a man, who feels the same.

As Christopher said about these videos, “It’s great being a dad”.

Yep, and it’s great to be a momma too.

A month already?

swaddled
I really can’t believe it’s been over a month since this sweet little one has entered our life!
sleeper
Parenthood is an amazing thing, and the more I parent, the more I am realizing that it just happens to quick. And so this time around in parenting Elliot, I am trying to take more time to enjoy this newborn phase, because I know from experience it goes by too quick.
lips
And even though I am trying to stop my boys from growing up, it is happening before my eyes. (With that being said, I am not only enjoying my infant,
oface
but also my preschooler,
truth
and kindergartner.)
tucker

This past month, has been so magical and wonderful. We have just ‘hunkered down’ at home, getting to know Elliot, trying to keep the germs away, enjoying adjusting to the new baby that has entered our home, and trying to figure out our new family dynamics.
sleep
We have really not left our home more than a handful of times with Elliot (for doctors appointments, and necessary things like that) and I love the time I have spent with my older boys. We have had some grand adventures. And they have been SO PATIENT with me and Elliot. I’d forgotten about newborn feeding schedules, diaper changes, and etc. While I have had to be taking care of ‘baby brother’ they have found their own adventures,
books
and a new found friendship with one another.
legos
They have shocked me with the love and kindness they exhibit.
notes
Of course, it’s not all perfect, they have little fights now and again, they are impatient with me not being able to put all three of them in my lap while I am nursing, or meeting everyone’s need when they want them met, but overall I have been so impressed with them and the way they have transitioned to ‘big brother-hood’.

Hopefully we’ll have many more months of this wonderfulness…
