Weekend At Grandma and Grandpa Phillips

I had a busy Relief Society Weekend Planned, and so instead of hanging out and being bored at home, the boys decided to go up to Logan, to be with Grandma and Grandpa Phillips, and a have a real good time.
Here are the pictures that were taken at Patricks Special Olympics Meet:

I don’t blame Toph and the boys for wanting to be in Logan this weekend, there is nothing better than being with people who love you so much…

Do you remember doing this?

I cannot even tell you how many times I would call up my friends, and we would coordinate outfits.
Last Thursday this was not on purpose…but fun none the less…

Good Times With our Aunt Amy…

Dearest Aunty Amy,
If you keep spoiling us like this, we are going to grow up thinking that it is a normal thing to be so stinking spoiled rotten.
amydate.jpg
And by the way, we had so much fun. So much fun in fact Truman was too excited to fall asleep, and had to keep talking to his big brother, until he eventually fell asleep with the words “boondocks” coming out of his mouth on Saturday Night. And Tucker talked about that cool places where you were almost running on the ceiling for a long time. And being able to watch Lightening Mcqueen on the Big Screen while Eating Hot Dogs and Super Big otter pops? Life doesn’t get better than that.
As for me, your sister, I must admit, I completely enjoyed walking around IKEA with out worrying about loosing my children (and my mind).
Thank you again for spoiling my boys rotten and thinking of us.
We WUV you!!!

Real Life Super Heroes..

My boys love Superheroes. At least one part of my day always includes them. Whether it is dressing up as superheroes, pretending to save people, or using their imagination to transform everyday objects into rockets, helicopters, or submarines to save people, they are an ever-present part of us.
One of my new favorite super hero things is an AWESOME new show on PBS called Super Why. It is about kids/superheroes who save they day by learning new social skills and by reading. AWESOME. I have only seen 3 episodes, but I am sure it is going to be a family favorite.
The kids have already pretended to be one of “Super Whys Super-readers”, which leads us to the next few pictures…
Toph had some fun in Photoshop today and made the boys into real life looking superheroes.

Nothing….

We got a note home from Tuckers School on Monday, this
is totally him. Nothing. is always his response…
A note to parents about
“Nothing”

When children come home at the end of the day,
the question they’re asked as they scurry to play is
“What did you do today?”
and the answer they give makes you sigh with dismay.
“Nothing, I did nothing today!”
Perhaps nothing means that I played with blocks,
or counted to 10, or sorted some rocks.
Maybe I painted a picture of red and blue
or heard a story of a mouse that flew.
Maybe I learned a new letter today,
or went outside on the swings to play.
Maybe today was the first time
that my scissors followed a very straight line.
Maybe I learned a song from beginning to end
or played witha special brand new friend.
When you’re in preschool and your heart has wings,
‘Nothing’ can mean so many things.
–I love that Tuckers Heart does have wings, and Nothing
does mean so many things. I love this boy, nothings and all.

Talking to Topher

Toph called the boys on the phone this afternoon, while he was talking to Truman, Tru said, “I am bowling on the table”– Unfortunately I had walked out of the room, to check on Tucker, so I didn’t hear this part of the conversation.
I brought Tucker back with me to the kitchen, got the phone from Truman, then walked out of the room so I could finish the phone conversation with Topher, only to return to the kitchen to find this:
“Truman Bowling on the Table” (just like he told Topher he was going to do), He was throwing small pool balls into my glass drinking cups. I switched the containers, and took this picture.
Topher was laughing so hard on the phone, because he knew exactly what Tru was doing.
Not to many people can say they have played table bowling before.

Another Power Ranger in the family….

Uncle Dallin Paul has an incredible influence on his nephews. Dallin has a passion for power rangers, that is because he is the red ranger. Tucker and Truman both look up to Dallin. That is why for the past 3 years for Halloween and anytime we play dress ups, Tucker chooses to be the Red Ranger. Now I would like to introduce the newest member of the Red Ranger Brigade…
Truman Red Ranger Phillips.

The funniest part about all of this to me is that Tucker and Truman don’t watch the Power Rangers, they just know the concept that they are superheroes. But it so interesting to watch them when they put on these costumes, and transform into universe saving little boys.
Our home will always be safe with them around.

Markers anyone?

My kids love makers, I don’t know what it is about them. I love that my kids love them, and for some reason, I love markers too… There is nothing like opening up a fresh new box of markers.
The other day my kids went from one marker activity to another. They literally spend the entire afternoon with a marker in their hands, Coloring in coloring books, drawing robots, to coloring a box (home) for their stuffed animals, and so when it came time for dinner, naturally, while I was cooking, they choose to use their dry erase marker books. When I looked over at them, they looked so cute COVERED in markers that I had to take a picture. (You can’t really see in the pictures, but they have markers all over their faces…)
