My friend, the Sewing Machine…

Although my sewing machine does not have a name, it probably should. I have spent so many hours with it, sewing and creating. It’s been a good pal, to say the least, and this last month, it’s gotten alot of use.

Amy and I sewed some pillows. They turned out really cute, and I can’t wait to actually see them on her couch, the color and the texture, are just going to be perfect, I just know it!

And I finally decided to make the leap and just do something I was afraid of… (why am I afraid to try to make something? What’s the worse that could happen, it doesn’t turn out?)

I made a car seat cover for Elliots chair.

I took the old one apart, (it wasn’t that hard, it’d gotten so much use, and wear and tear, it was virtually already falling apart!) and used it as a pattern.

Why, oh why, did I wait so long to do this? It didn’t really take me that long, and in my opinion, it turned out so cute, why does fear sometimes stop us from doing things? It was an exhilarating feeling to complete it, and felt so wonderful to see it done, and turned out better than I had envisioned.
Hurray for completing projects!

Sledding, Sledding down the hill,

We went up the canyon, and thanks to some good neighbors, they led us to the perfect sledding spot. What makes it perfect? There was a good distance to ride, and not too steep of a climb back up. We’ll definitely be coming back here in the winter to come!

Elliot had a sweet little ride, he hung out here pretty content for a majority of the morning!

He sat at the base of the hill with me, whilst I snapped pictures. And loved watching everyone go down the hill.

All four of my boys, how did Tuck and Tru end up backwards in every single picture of the four of them?

And I think Toph got as many trips down as the boys did.

Can you tell by the many smiles on their faces that we had a GREAT time?

Truman did spend alot of time rolling balls, and climbing snow drifts,

And as if the morning couldn’t get any better, we finished it up with Hot Cocoa and Doughnuts out of the back of the car.

This is the part of winter I love.
