My friend, the Sewing Machine…

Although my sewing machine does not have a name, it probably should. I have spent so many hours with it, sewing and creating. It’s been a good pal, to say the least, and this last month, it’s gotten alot of use.

Amy and I sewed some pillows. They turned out really cute, and I can’t wait to actually see them on her couch, the color and the texture, are just going to be perfect, I just know it!

And I finally decided to make the leap and just do something I was afraid of… (why am I afraid to try to make something? What’s the worse that could happen, it doesn’t turn out?)

I made a car seat cover for Elliots chair.

I took the old one apart, (it wasn’t that hard, it’d gotten so much use, and wear and tear, it was virtually already falling apart!) and used it as a pattern.

Why, oh why, did I wait so long to do this? It didn’t really take me that long, and in my opinion, it turned out so cute, why does fear sometimes stop us from doing things? It was an exhilarating feeling to complete it, and felt so wonderful to see it done, and turned out better than I had envisioned.
Hurray for completing projects!

I wish I was at the stage where my sewing machine was my friend!!! I am afraid of trying something and it not turning out. You inspire me to get it out again and take a flying leap!!! I better get my wings on!

I want to learn to sew, maybe you could take on the challenge? As far as the fear goes, I have an amazing book, it is currently not being published but I will be blogging lots on it. you’ll have to be sure to let me know what you think…
