We bought a new slip and slide, my mom came down to watch my kids while I went to a Dr.’s Appointment. While I was gone Tucker broke in the slip and Slide, although he didn’t get the sliding concept part. He would just run down the slide, and stop then splash on his knees in the pool. I came home and tried to explain the slipping process. He wasn’t interested in doing it that way.
Like I have said a hundred times before, Tucker follow the beat of his own drum, and doesn’t worry about others! That is great he had a great time playing, and My mom and I had a great time watching, who needs a TV when you’ve got this kind of entertainment?

Paint Everywhere
Last week when I was putting the finishing touches on the paint, I would touch up a wall, and Truman just didn’t understand the concept of wet paint getting everywhere.
I watched him so closely, I felt like I washed more paint off him then I was putting up on the walls. I thought I did pretty good washing him up, but that night during the tub, I found this:
A nice Avocado Color on Tru’s Elbow and his arm:
And how can your resist this handsome face:
My children are like magnets… they will be dirty, no matter how often I clean them! They are dirt Magnets.
Morning Exercises
Say “P”-ewe
After Lunch Truman brought me the camera, and said, Mama, Take Picture.
I said sure Truman, say cheese and I went to take the picture, and when I did this, Truman started talking really fast, and I stopped, and I listened, he said,
“No, Mama, don’t say Cheese, Say P-Ewe” (Like a stinky diaper)
I started to laugh, and took a P-ewe picture
And Another…
And Another…
Some days I think that I should be laughing all day long with my boys….
A Cat and Mouse Game
Great DI Find
Toph found one of his Childhood Toys at the DI at $2, we considered it to be a great bargain 🙂
Introducing Space Man Ziff and the Constructs Rocket Edition:
The crazy thing is a few days later we found another set. Toph was so ecstatic. They are now the boys latest new favorite toy.
Toph has totally enjoyed playing with the boys, and helping them build new rockets.
The New Neighborhood Choo-Choo
Yesterday we were out in our yard, when the neighbor children had a good idea…
Introducing our Choo-Choo….
First the wagon, Bungee Cord, Big Wheel, Bungee Cord, Airplane, Bungee Cord, and Big Wheel
The boys had a lot of fun until one of the bungees unhooked, and hit Tucker on the hand, then Truman fell of the back, and got dragged down the road. Tru’s Face has a little road rash.
Note to self: Don’t ever do this again, and oh yea, Put up bungee cords. UP HIGH — Out of site out of mind.
Fishy in a Basket
At Swimming Lessons Tucks class plays a game called “Fishy in a basket”.
Here is how they play, the teacher and most of the children hold hands around one student who stands in the middle. Then they sing this song,
“Fishy in a Basket, Fishy in a Basket, How are your going to get out? How are you going to get out?”
While they sing this song, the student in the middle tries to swim under the other peoples hands.
Tucker loves this game. I think one reason he loves it and talks about it often, is because he is really good at it, and is not afraid to put his head under the water and swim. (After swimming lessons his eyes were always red, from the chlorine, so we just got him a swimming mask, and I think that makes it even better for him.) He is loving being able to see under the water. It is so much fun to see how much he is progressing. He is such a good little swimmer.
He has a hard time staying on the wall, but he is a natural swimmer — a little fishy.
Here are a few pics:
Mrs. Stormy (or Mrs. Thunder as Tucker calls her) Explaining Blowing Bubbles
Tucker, has a hard time staying so close to his teacher:
With Mrs. Stormy, showing Tucker how to close his eyes while underwater.
We have only 2 days left of swimming lessons. I am going to be sad to see them end, but it has been a fabulous way to begin the summer
