Celebrating Amy…

For Amy’s birthday, we celebrated by going to lunch with her, and visiting her awesome office, complete with a room/walls covered entirely in white boards, can you say awesome?

Someday I will have a room covered in whiteboards, ‘sure kids, color on the walls!’

and bean bag chairs, my kids would be in heaven.

Love to celebrate such a wonderful part of my life.

Love you Amys! Not only are you my sister, but my best friend!

Car seat Fun…

We brought this car seat inside, and Elliot spent the next day sitting in it happily for nearly an hour. I kept asking him if he wanted to get out, and he didn’t.

I guess he likes to be strapped down, and I should try to do it more often! HA!

Ode to Joy

For his papa.

Tucker LOVES piano. He has an amazing teacher who is patient and kid with him, and challenges him. This was one of the first song he learned to play. He was so proud of himself, as he should be!

Saturday Night Movie Night!

A weekly tradition my kids LOVE. And make sure we don’t forget!

Pizza and salad in the office, on a blanket, while we watch a movie. The kids latest favorite show to pick is is ‘Phineus and Ferb’. I actually think it’s a pretty entertaining show too! “Darn you Perry the Platypus!”

And another perk? We use paper plates, and dishes, and so there is literally NO clean up, and so we’re all ready for Sunday the next day! Love it!

How hard it is to De-junk,

when the kids keep finding treasures amongst the stuff I am giving away!
Perfect example: Tucker rekindled his love for knitting, with his kniffty knitter

And as I was sorting, I couldn’t keep Lorelei away from the pipe cleaners.

This is the week she started to roll everywhere to get what she wanted.

How quickly they learn!

Concentration

Love to catch these little moments of play,

when he’s not aware of me,

and his concentration is completely on what he’s doing.

This day it was stacking letters. And he was on a quest to build a big tower. And he succeeded. 🙂

The Hunsaker Carnival!

The great Hunsakers invited us to their Carnival, hosted as a fundraiser for the youth in their ward. It was a great night! Toph was out of town, (we were supposed to pick him up from the airport, but his flight got delayed a few hours! Darn!) and I was grateful for something fun to do!

Thanks again Great Hunsakers, it was a memorable and fun night!

Tucker’s Author’s Fair

His bare book this year, The Three Little Shrimp and the Big Bad Shark

He was so excited to share it with us:

Especially to see Truman at his class!

What good pals these sweet boys are.

We all enjoyed some juice and cookies,

and an excellent story.

Elliot and Truman sat ‘glued’ to his book as he read it!

So proud of you Tucker and how hard you work to make your dreams become reality!

Kindergarten Field Trip to the Schow Farm

One of Truman’s classmates’ grandparents live on a beautiful farm. The kids got to visit it, and learn more about how farms work. The Schow family was incredibly generous in giving their time to allow our school to come and visit.

I got to go on the field trip, with just Truman. It was a special treat to spend some one on one time with this cutie, and see him interacting with his classmates and friends.

He finally got to go on a school bus! Dreams do come true!

With his best kindergarten pal,

We learned about fish,

Farm equipment

How to bale hay

Saw this amazing little tree house, on their beautiful property,

Got to feed baby sheep

Pet baby goats

I really do think baby piglets are darling, and we learned what meat they give us, It was strange for me to see that it startled some of the little kids when they called this cutie piglet it’s name: bacon. 🙂

Met this sweet, gentle horse.

This momma cow, was protecting her calf. She even charged the fence a few times. The kids were anxious to leave this station!

We went next to the ice-cream booth, yes please!

And on a wagon ride,

And we ended the day with a discussion about Chickens, and a sucker. Truman informed me the chickens were boring, and he knew everything they talked about. (and he truthfully did!)

It is a relaxing morning to be with just Truman. He is obedient, kind and a good listener. How blessed am I to be his mother.
