In January, I chose the word..
Eternal.
July begins the 7th month of the year, we’re over half-way through 2010! July feels like an appropriate time to review/re-evaluate my goals. I have been thinking alot about where I am, why I am where I am, and what things I can improve on and what things I am doing good at.
During this time of pondering, I came across this quote which summarized how I am feeling about life right now…
ANNA QUINDLEN : Life is made of moments, small pieces of silver amidst long stretches of tedium. It would be wonderful if they came to us unsummoned, but particularly in lives as busy as the ones most of us lead now, that won’t happen. We have to teach ourselves now to live, really live…to love the journey, not the destination.
I try to focus on this, and still feel time slipping through my fingers…keeping an eternal perspective, and my eye set upon eternal things has helped me immensely these last few months, looking for the little things, and enjoying them.
Unfortunately, I have not done so well at other things, like getting to the temple to renew my eternal covenants as often as I would like…but I still have a few more months to rectify these other things, right?
