Super Elliot

Following in his big brother, Trumans, footsteps this caped crusader is capturing the hearts of those around him.

I’ve begun nesting. It started small, with the boys closets in preparation for school starting. Where I found Elliots next set of clothes and the froggie slippers.

He loved them IMMEDIATELY, we put them on, and off he ran…then a few minutes later came in carrying Truman cape, saying ‘Help’, I put it on him, and continued about my work of organizing.

I did not stop to admire his handsomeness. Thank heavens his father did, and shot a few photos to remember this sweet moment.

And another couple sweet thing about Elliot? He calls himself ‘Baby’ in every picture/reflection he sees of himself…that’s going to have to change in the coming months!

And lastly? He used to say ‘Thank You’ when you handed him something, but now has begun to say ‘You’re Welcome’ instead. He’s a bit confused on that matter, but as long as he’s trying to be polite, I can’t say that I mind it.

Happy Saturday to you!

A day away…

So many pictures of our day in SLC…

Lunch with Dad

Children’s Museum

And a picnic and splashing at the Fountain at the Gateway.

(Elliot HATED the shooting water from the ground, and avoided it–even when mom and dad tried to show him how fun it was–but he just couldn’t help himself from trying to stay by his brothers who were dashing and running through the water! )

A good, good day.

the 4th of July: Ice-cream, streams, and fireworks

The actual 4th fell on a Sunday this year, so we got to celebrate all weekend long! Sunday was spent at home where I took at 3 hour nap. (I have the best husband ever), and felt like a new woman when I awoke!

On Monday, we celebrated some more, with a trip to get ice cream

and after a little detour, to our local park where they have an beautiful little stream.
The kids had a great time…they splashed, threw rocks, and then worked hard to built a little bridge/dam all the way across the riverbed.

Afterwords, they played in the trees for a few minutes, Truman making faces

Tucker pretending to be a monkey, higher, higher and higher.

Ending the night with some fireworks (and the neighbors fireworks–which were way cooler than our $10.00 pack 🙂 )

A happy, happy Fourth.

the 4th of July: Cabin

My favorite holiday, the 4th of July…spent enjoying it with family at the cabin.

The camera did not get pulled out much, but I did catch a tid-bit of the fun.

There was alot of staining going on, Toph got the job at the top of the ladder. 🙂

Fishing/floating on the raft at the pond

Horseback riding

Enjoying the cabin

And a few wild animal sightings, including a bear, that was so close! By the time I grabbed my camera, Toph got a shot of it’s rear end, I don’t know how to make arrows, but it’s rear is between the e and the a of bear.

Sweetest momma duck on the pond with her ducklings

And this little guy was a wild one!

Unfortunately, I was not feeling super hot, and we ended up leaving early, but we’re grateful that we were able to get away for awhile and enjoy the serenity, wonderfulness of the cabin for a bit!

Not going anywhere, but still trying to have fun!!

We haven’t gone many places this summer, it just takes so much effort to get out of the house some days!! And to be quite honest, I am sick of throwing up in random places, while telling my older two children to keep an eye on Elliot while I make a run for it, to find appropriate places. 🙂

So we’re still trying to do fun things, and have some fun at home. Here are some of the fun things we’ve done this summer.

Swimming in our pool

Slip-n-slide

sprinklers

Frisbee pool toss bingo tag (I don’t know how to play, but they love it! The rules change frequently, so don’t plan on just jumping in if you do already know how to play! 🙂 )

Club Pengin (a new obsession, all the boys computer time has been designated to this…they are ninjas, surfing pros, and puffle loving penguins!)

Work Sheets/Workbooks (they strangely, ask for more some days?!)

Humanitarian Quilting

Niffy Knitting

Reading

And the best for last, HOURS upon HOURS of sandbox and the hose. I don’t know why I didn’t figure this out sooner in the summer. They LOVE this activity, and never grows old. They always add a new element…building a castle, a lake, going down the slide without smashing anything, they just have so much fun.

And of course the good papa they have, joined them one Saturday.

Love summer, in all it’s goodness….
