This year, for my birthday there was no big party, and I really wanted to have a low key day. And that is what I got! I felt very spoiled on my birthday this year, I got to spend the entire day with my sweetheart. And celebrated it only as mother could, and enjoyed it only as a mother would.
It all started with breakfast in bed (doughnuts, fruit and juice–tradition) a birthday menu and beautiful flowers,
We walked Tucker to school as a family, then the rest of us headed off to Salt Lake where we waited to meet with a surgeon for Trumans upcoming surgery.
The appointment took us over 4 hours, so afterwords we got ourselves some yummy gelato then dashed home to make sure we were there when Tucker finished school. I then enjoyed a birthday song, complete with the banging of dishes, a foot massage, my car was vacuumed out, and a game of High Ho Cherry-o. A visit from my visiting teachers, (Eli helped me unwrap my present)
and then it was off to back to school night for Tucker, where we were able to get a peek into Tucks’ classroom, and his desk. We came home, put the kids to bed, and Toph ordered us some yummy indian food to eat together. Then I crawled into bed early, which really is a treat!
If you would have told me a few years ago that a magical day would have consisted of the above day, I would not have believed you. But now as a mother, it’s those many little things that just made it a perfect day. I mean, come on, an entire day with my sweetheart? happy children? nice clean car? High Ho Cherry-O? What could be better?
And because it was my birthday, not many pictures were taken, but a few shots of my children.
