When the reward is Krispie Kream Doughnuts, and I eat more than I should…
But the boys LOVE this place.
And when it is earned, we all celebrate together–which is not so good for my waistline! 🙂
Month: May 2008
So our friend and neighbor is so generous. She is always giving us things that her children have outgrown, or no longer play with, or just doesn’t need anymore.
Yesterday she gave us a little building set, to which Truman has fallen in love. Every spare second, he has played with it!
We have now built all the things from the instructions (helicopter, airplane, loader and motorcycle), of course, he does need some help, but for the most part, he is pretty good with the screwdriver.
He is now just building other creations (Totally by himself), and I love to watch his little mind just growing and expanding with each new creation.
(And of course now that Truman likes this toy, Tucker wants to play too! Nothing like a brother!)
It’s official, Kindergarten here we come!
Our video camera died, so not video for this, but we did get a few shots.
Walking out to the stage.
He gave Gramps the Hang-loose sign…
And Toph the I love you sign.
For some reason, his hat would not stay tight around his head, and he spent most of the program with his eyes covered, looking out from underneath the bottom of his hat.
Diploma
With his teachers, Mrs. Kylee
and Mrs. Rachel, they were awesome, and Tucker will miss them, and I hope he will remember them!
Picture with Gramps, Tucker was so glad he could come, and didn’t quite understand gramps humor when he would jokingly ask him, “what are you going to do next Tucker? Harvard, Stanford?”
One of my new favorite shots,
With friends Austin, Andrea, and Kaedri.
Playing at the playground with Gramps,
Afterwords we went to McDonalds to enjoy an ice-cream…Congrats to my little Tuck Man! Watch out Kindergarten, here we come!
After diligently working hard, a new friend was finally completed.
The final step was the sewing of the eyes completed ‘baby banana butt’…
The funny thing is I initially made the original banana butt about a decade ago, my brother gave me a kit, because as children we LOATHED Banana Butt. We hated it, and would throw it at each other, squealing with disgust when it hit us or came near us. So it is so funny to see how much Tucker not only has embraced, but loved his banana butts.
As soon as baby was finished, he began posing then hiding the two monkeys together, and taking pictures of them.
Here are a few of my favorites.
(that tree one is my favorite! HA LOL!)
In addition to building a treehouse, on Saturday, Toph helped Jo and Chad make their wedding announcement. Aren’t they so cute together?
We are so glad that they were able to come down and spend part of the weekend with us, especially considering they are so busy making all the wedding arrangements!
As always, we love having guests, and hope you will come again! 🙂
Toph spent a majority of the day working on the treehouse (hasn’t my hubby done a great job?), As you can see, we are so close to completion! All he has left is: the side next to the slide, anchoring the slide and the ladder/steps. (and then I think I get to do the staining!) I can’t believe it’s almost done. It’s been a year in the making, and the boys love it already, and I am sure that so many memories will be made here! Can’t wait to watch the boys grow up playing here!
Happy Birthday Lexie!!
My wonderful, talented amazing sister in law Lexie’s birthday is today.
I cannot even begin to tell you how much I admire her! She is the most creative, talented woman I know, and is also just so much fun that you can’t help but love her! She is in Michigan right now, but we will be seeing her soon! I hope that her day is full of sunshine and wonderfulness!
We love you!
Is that even possible?
Yep it is.
Thursday, we spend the day at home. Nothing planned, just playing catch up, and it was a day to remember. So many fun things happened today! I am going to miss these days as Tucker heads off to Kindergarten next year, and will be there everyday.
I TRUTHFULLY LOVE days where we just get to…
Cuddle in Blankets and stay all morning in our jammies
Discovering new things like seeds in a pepper,
Eat lunch in the sink,
and watch the bird who is making quite a show out the window,
Finish up projects, that children are just dying to do, (More on that Later…)
Smelling beautiful fragrance of Lilacs,
Keep building treehouses,
Enjoy moving newly refinished patio furniture
Eating dinner together outside
Swinging
I am grateful for days like these, and sweet boys who make these days so special. I do love being a mother, if only all days could be uneventful and wonderful like this…
Remember our Little Seedlings? Well it’s finally safe to plant these little guys outside!!
Truman is geared up and ready to go…
My boys planting,
Tuck
Tru
We’re going to try to make a Bean TeePee. We’ll see if it works!
And we’ll see if the other plants grow here too, ’cause honestly we’ve never planted in this bed before! But I really hope so, because there is nothing like produce fresh out of the garden.
